SimCap User Group
(Simulation and Capacity Analysis User Group)
SimCap is a forum for users of traffic simulation and capacity analysis software, who are wanting to share their experiences with other users across North Carolina. SimCap is intended as a resource for transportation professionals working with various simulation and capacity models to exchange information, ask questions and debate the applicability of different models for certain scenarios.
SimCap will serve simulation and capacity analysis software users by creating a resource of information for all to use. Through web-based forums, regional workshops, and User Group meetings, transportation professionals and software users can share experiences and lessons learned.
SimCap will serve transportation managers by providing information to help them make project management level decisions regarding modeling and simulation. With the variety of new and emerging software tools, it can be challenging to keep up with the differences between various models. The SimCap users group intends to be a resource to aid in the decision making process.
SimCap will assist transportation agencies in developing statewide acceptable modeling practices. By relying on the expertise of software users throughout the state, agencies can efficiently work towards including models from simulation and capacity analysis software in their recommended practice.
SimCap will serve as a central resource of information for all levels of users. SimCap intends to be a resource for every user whether they are a beginner or a professional with long-term expertise.
