Membership Grade Descriptions

Member

A person holding the grade of Member or Fellow in good standing with the international Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Members are permitted to vote for President, Vice-president, Secretary-Treasurer, and one Board Member (who is a MEMBER). To join international ITE, visit their Website.

Affliate

A person in the transportation engineering profession who 1) either qualifies for membership national ITE (but is not a member of that organization) , or 2) is accumulating experience towards national ITE membership — including a person holding Institute affiliate membership in national ITE. Affiliates are permitted to vote for two Board Members (who are Affiliates).

Student

A person enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate school in a transportation or traffic engineering program and is a member of the school's student ITE chapter. Students should have less than one year's work experience in transportation or traffic engineering field. (If you have one or more years of experience, you may be eligible for, and admitted to, a higher grade of membership.) Students are not permitted to vote, but can raise their NCSITE concerns through their Faculty Advisor, or through the NCSITE Board Member Position of Section Director. Students should contact their faculty advisor for registration:

NCSITEOfficial is used by our Members and Affiliates for dissemination of information to the entire membership.

If you are an Active Member or Affiliate of NCSITE, you CANNOT unsubscribe to this Listserv. This Official list will only disseminate information deemed pertinent to and by the NCSITE Board, committees, and Councils.

Types of communications you will be receiving from this Listserv will include official notices or announcements from International ITE, the Southern District, and the NCSITE Board and Councils, meeting notices and invitations, newsletters, etc. We intend for each and every Member and Affiliate to be included on this list.

This Listserv, aptly named NCSITEOptional, will be used by our Members and Affiliates for dissemination of information to the entire membership.

If you are an Active Member or Affiliate of NCSITE, you MAY unsubscribe to this Listserv. The Board realizes that there may be NCSITE members who do not want to receive each and every piece of information that NCSITE members want to make public. While we will only disseminate information deemed pertinent to and by the NCSITE Board, Committees, and Councils, we want each of you to have the option to UNSUBSCRIBE at any time if you choose to. Posting Information to the Listserv

Anyone wishing to have a communication posted to Listserv must forward the information, preferably electronically, to the Operations Committee Chair for review and approval. DO NOT SEND information directly to the Listserv as it will not be posted.

This Listserv is maintained by the Institute for Transportation Research and Education (ITRE) at NC State University. Linda Collier currently manages the Listserv. NCSITE e-mails will come from Linda but are prepared by Members and Affiliates, and approved by the Operations Committee Chair. ITRE does not compose, format, check spelling, etc.
