Welcome to NCSITE
NC TRANSPORTATION PROFESSIONALS
Your source for expertise, knowledge, and ideas.
The North Carolina Section of ITE - a Community of Transportation Professionals - commonly known as NCSITE, is a professional society of persons involved in transportation engineering and planning activities. It is affiliated with the larger ITE International organization.
NCSITE was established to promote sound transportation engineering practices in the planning, design, operation, and management of transportation facilities and equipment for the safe, convenient, and efficient movement of people and goods. The NCSITE membership includes a broad range of transportation personnel–engineers, planners, educators, administrators, and technicians. Many modes of transportation are represented in the organization’s membership.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Sravya Suryadevara, PE

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your NCSITE President for 2026. I want to begin by sincerely thanking each of you for making NCSITE your professional organization of choice. Your dedication, involvement, and passion for improving transportation in North Carolina are what make this community such a meaningful and impactful one.
Our organizational strength comes from the people who lead and participate in our councils, committees, and user groups. NCSITE’s five professional councils— Consultant/Vendor, Strategic Initiatives, Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, and Young Member—provide targeted training, outreach, and networking opportunities throughout the year. Alongside these, NCSITE supports seven active user groups – Bike/Ped, NEPA, SimCap, Signal Systems, Signing & Marking, ITS, and Safety – that host forums and discussions on emerging technologies, current practices, and specialized topics within the transportation field. Together, these groups form the backbone of our professional development ecosystem and help ensure we continue to grow as a community of practice.
My own journey with ITE began when I was a master’s student at NC State University, and I have been proud to be part of this organization ever since. My involvement with NCSITE has deeply and positively influenced my career, connecting me with mentors, colleagues, and lifelong friends. The professional relationships formed here have shaped my path in ways I will always be grateful for.
Looking ahead to 2026, my primary focus as President will be leading the effort to update NCSITE’s strategic plan so we can chart a clear and forward‑thinking vision for the future of our organization. I also look forward to strengthening our collaboration with partner organizations such as WTS, ACEC, and others that share our mission to advance the transportation profession.
Finally, I want to extend a call to action for all members—past, present, and future:
- To our previously active members: we invite you to reengage with the NCSITE community. Your experience, insights, and leadership are invaluable in helping invigorate and guide the transportation industry.
- To our current members: continue to connect with one another and with students at our university chapters—NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, NC A&T, and UNC Charlotte. Your engagement helps inspire and shape the next generation of transportation professionals.
- To our new members: I encourage you to make NCSITE your professional home. Get involved, build your network, and take advantage of the many opportunities NCSITE offers for growth, collaboration, and leadership.
Thank you again for being part of this amazing community. I look forward to working alongside you to make 2026 a year of meaningful progress and continued excellence for NCSITE.
Warm regards,
2026 President, NCSITE
